Yeh was gonna do that, but I think holding the rod will threading it may be tricky, will give it a go anywayf0xy wrote:None of the clio servos have an adjustable clevis side. My 182 one was the correct length for stock pedal position, but i guess there is nothing stopping the clevis being cut off and a thread put on the rod, then a clevis wound on with a locking nut to get some adjustability

Column has been lowered, clutch pedal bodged, seat mounted using some bodged up recaro r32 rails with my spg copy seat. Driving position is fantastic now, just finalising the throttle which will be the s14 top hinged one

Getting there....

You could always use mild acid to prep the bay, easy to apply and easy to remove

Middle of buying a house at the moment so bit busy, but welded up the engine mounts ( previous just tacked) and stripped ancillaries from engine and cleaned last night., the engine was filthy due to rocker cover leakage.
Basically I've been putting off the horrid task of of Cleaning /prepping the interior. Also have the passenger jacking point, drivers side rear inner arch tub, and rear passenger footwells welding to finish, but it's all very minor. Maybe tonight. I'm still umping and arghing as to whether or not to just slap a custom cages 6 point weld in, as they're only bout £450 for the DIY kit.
My e46 quick rack has also turned up so can finalise the steering column now too.

Gonna go for the bc coilovers with 12/12 springs. Rear disc arms and 325front brakes, yellow stuff pads all round. Will oeob just keep the smaller front hubs as bc do a fitment for this and it's the same damper as the larger version.
On another note I stripped the engine yesterday completely. I'm still not sure why I did but I did anyway. I think I will rebuild this s14a engine to the following spec and then stick it in my s14. That has a stock internals s15 lump in it which I'll then put in the e30. I have big plans for 500whp+ in the silvia and need a strong engine for it.
Anyway engine spec will be
Wossner rods 86.5mm 8.5:1 comp
PEC h beam rods
Arp headbolts
Acl race rod bearings
Acl race main bearings
Cosworth 1.1 hgasket
Rotating assembly to be balanced
Stock crank
Head work yet to be decided, prob go with tomei poncams and tomei valve springs. I would like solid lifters or a vvl head to eliminate the rockers but can't afford that at present.

Hey man nice conversion i like the pedal pox with the moved Booster, im in the middle of an RB conversion and im having massive issues with the booster being on the LHS so i might have to start cutting the batt tray and move the booster lower for more rooooom

Scrap the previous engine idea. The engine was stripped and I decided to just rebuild it and stick it in the e30. There is a rather more special engine going in the silvia now.
The engine was stripped and everything was found to be in spec apart from exhaust valve guides. Head was resurfaced 0.004'. Rehoned bores, everything cleaned and blown through. Block surface was just cleaned. So far I've assembled bottom end rotating assembly with acl race bearings and NPR rings. Supertech guides were also fitted.

Still not stuck the head back on yet, still got to lap the valves and shim it properly, which is a bit tricky on sr heads.
In the mean time I have ordered a custom cages clubman 6pt weld in cage so I will be getting to work installing that when it arrives in about 10days time. The cpl small rust repairs will also be done and ill then paint the whole car myself.....

So the shell prep carried on, with few rust repairs and a lot of cleaning g of dirt inside and glue from sound deadening. I want to do this before I weld the cage in. Also cut out spare wheel well and rear bulkhead areas for cage to get through, this will be repelled after to recreate the firewall.
Made a spit on bearings to help spin the car

A little cleaning every night this week should have it ready for the cage by weekend hopefully.....then prep and paint the whole car.

OK let's have a complete direction change with this and go crazy!!!!!
I came across a chap who was selling engine box and electrical gubbins from a e92 m3. Having lusted after one of these as a possibility for my S14 track car I knew I had to get it and the e30 seemed the right home for it.
A deal was done and we hired a huge van to go collect it. The engine was stil on the subframe and was picked up and dropped into the van in a few minutes.

Everything was then unloaded at my house where the shell currently has resided for the past couple of years with very little activity.

With these engines a lot of other body modules have to be present for the engine to work properly without error codes so I got pretty much everything of the the car loom and cluster and all modules etc. As the body mods will take place first to fit the engine And then the body will
Likely have to go to paint I decided to make a frame to get the engine and box to sit on and get running on whilst the body is away or getting modded. I then removed the air con and pas pump along with temporarily removing the engine loom
Itself. The power steering will be an electro hydraulic pump likely placed in the cabin.

Air pump and air recirc thingy removed- this is for
Emissions to heat up the cats quickly

Found an oil leak from filter housing area so cleaned that and will
Change gasket

Head seemed tidy

I knew I was going to have to cut and remake a lot of the tunnel and bulkhead area to get the engine far back as possible so I made a bar to support the bottom of the shell and prevent inward collapse.

Then I cut the area out , likely will need more later

I did all the over the weekend so really happy with speed of progress
Next stop engine and gearbox mounts!!
