big thing there is the word "auto"

your gonna need to change prop, gearbox, diff etc.

1. convert to manual
2. stick in an m50b25

Doesn't a k plate require a cat come MOT time ?

Not if the engine is pre August 92 or the engine number is unreadable.

im not going through all this again...lol

m42 is the 318is engine 1.8 16v 140 odd bhp
m20 b20 is the 6 cylinder 129 bhp 2 ltr as in 320
m20 b25 is the 6 cylinder 171 bhp 2.5 ltr as in 325
m30 is more ambitious "big six"in 3ltr,3.5 ltr but is more involved than the native e30 engine swaps.

plenty of cheap 325s complete around...best bet, youve got all the bits for couple of hundred :D

316 to 325 swap is 'easy'....

I just did it, had a few hitches along the way but that was my fault.

If I can do it, anyone can.
