Cheers Barry. Well I bought this car about 5 years ago. It's a 320 manual. It came from Surrey but was originally from Stratford. When I got it it had a manky bonnet and battery tray as well as a warped head. I got all that sorted and it was my daily driver for 2 years.

It got driven into in tesco by some old nob in a camper van. I knew the insurance would write it off so I took it off the road and I've been restoring it ever since.

I wanted to keep it oem so everything (bar the engine due to time as it was my wedding car) had been stripped out and powder coated. Bushes replace, diff rebuilt, underside stripped and resealed with epoxy underseal. The only thing that really lets it down is the interior which is a bit tired. I'm looking to sort that and rebuild the engine next year. I'm just going to enjoy it this summer coming as I've not driven it for years.

Ah headlight washer wipers! Agreed. They are the next thing up on the list. I have no idea what the hell to do with them.

Have you tried actually operating them? They should operate with the headlamps on and when you operate the intensive wash/wipe system. You may also need to have the engine running.

Often with these, the shafts in the little gearboxes behind the headlamps seize, so you could try squirting penetrating fluid such as PlusGas into them.

However, seeing as they are both stuck in the same position (usually, one gets stuck in an odd position, while the other keeps working), it may just be a loose contact somewhere...
