One of only two none OEM parts on the car.
I put the horns on when I were just a lad and the car was 4 years old. They are part of it now and will forever stay, so long as they continue to work.
The other none OEM - the steering wheel. Have a look at the TBMW feature in 2002 to see why. It was BMWs daft attempt at a 3 spoke sports wheel before the Tech wheels. Andyboy didn't rate it and neither did I. I changed it for a 4 spoke Mota Lita wheel, again many years ago.
I still have the sport wheel but never use it.

Yep - and so has her sister car from May 83. Another early one like that is Brian Lake's early 316. So it does appear this was factory finish at the time.DanThe wrote:quote]

Barry - correct and as you say a horrid piece of work.
I think I can be forgiven for straying from OEM with THAT on the car.
For one thing, I could never find the horn control especially when the wheel was away from the straight.

I have seen a few E24 sixes with that wheel fitted, seems alot more common than on E30's.
Would you not feel a leather 3 spoke "sports" wheel normally fitted to SE's be more at home than a motolita wheel?

My henna red car was an 83 build but I dont have any engine bay pics, in one pic I can just see the steel bodied relays with yellow painted tops in the fusebox but not the brake fluid reshennabm wrote:Yep - and so has her sister car from May 83. Not really - as the motolita wheel is smaller than than the SE wheel and is a metal 4 spoke with centre horn push and full leather rim.bss325i wrote:I have seen a few E24 sixes with that wheel fitted, seems alot more common than on E30's.

Nothing beats the good old M42.....
Oh wait, yes it does
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.
