Rav are you insane! Not read the whole post but by reading the last few posts i'm getting the impression that your not putting these sexy wheels on your car but instead leaving the nasty looking alpinas on.

Sort your self out mate and fit the BBS they look 1000 times better

Sorry but its the chavs in E36's that really killed off Alpina wheels for me there just far to common regardless if the reps or real

The oven method is easier, leave it in there for 10 mins, no real force needed then to seperate them.

What gas mark do you recommend?

Well I just read that, mmmmm, why bash it with a mallet when you need minimal force when it comes out of the oven????
And the torque settings are low, its recommended that they are torqued to 15.
And why so much sealent between the barrel and dish??
All you need is a thin bead on the outer of the barrel, place the dish, bolt it up, leave for 24hrs and then run another bead round the 2 and leave for another 24hrs.
Job done.

Pac1982, i do agree that when a job of making a car look like an origional is fooked up, then it does look 5h1t.
I'm happy with mine, and until you see it in the flesh you'll know its done right.
Plenty of zoners have seen the car and i'm sure if there was anything not done correct they would be the first to point it out.

I agree with the amount of sealant but its a 3 day job for you ...the amount of force needed to split them is minimal and it only takes a second ..........You rightly say you need a small amount of sealant but by the time you have tightened up the rims you don't need any more ..just wipe off the excess in fact...and why wait 24 hours ..its cured in 1/2 hour

i'd guess the 10 lb/ft is because they're RMs and youre tightening into an alloy thread of an alloy wheel, 15 lb/ft is usually quoted for RSs where youre tightening a steel nut onto a steel bolt.
