I bought a lemon which blew a head gasket and turned out to have un-fixable rust it it... but I love it sooo much! Here are a few pics to share before I part her out and search for a new 318i shell to strip and fit the good bits into:

No doubt I will be spending hours looking through the galleries for inspiration!

France, the entire section of the car would have to be swapped/welded and it's a bit above me for now. The rust runs from the fuse box all the way to the fuel pump so I think it would be futile to say the least as it would only come back.

Spikuzi, I'm in brunswick but the cars are in mulgrave at my work. I will keep a list of things I break or need, are you a collector as well? Depending on how long it takes I might need some help swapping things over one weekend if you are near mulgrave? Should be fine for now, thanks for the offer :)

I know Mulgrave well, Beavy. Where's your work?

Shell looks excellent.

Best of luck with your project.

No moneyz for the respray, spent it all finding a decent shell with a few bonus goodies (rad/lsd/stereo).

Things going well, both cars are stripped and waiting for the engine & loom swap next weekend. Floor/body all done on the golden car, very happy with my progress, however slow it may seem! For the guys hoping to drop by I work at the headquarters in mulgrave and they're kind of anal with security so maybe we should organise a meet once the car's done? Are there any aussie forums like this one?

Thanks for the supportive comments guys

LSD was a factory option, very weird as it has the small case! 3.45 fyi. I'm hoping to get the car done by my birthday (1st march), registered a little later, so I would definitely be up for a cruise or just so I can check out someone else's e30! Are they 17's spikuzi?

Engine + Body Wiring loom are across, just have to re-plug everything and do the interior, cooling system, fuel pump and lines, clutch slave, re-wire check control (didn't want to cut the interior to swap), swap the racks (to manual), install an immobiliser, ...the list goes on!
