Didn't know where to post this, but just wanted to show you the M3 replica I picked up for a friend.
He wanted to get a M3 again, but the prices have sky rocketed.
The car is supposed to become a track/road car with S54 engine.

Looks in good shape. Metal panels done well or cheap fibreglass?

Nice base for what sounds like and nice ride.

Other than the 4 stud set up giving it away it looks like a very good conversion! 8)

Apparently, the bodywork was done in Germany by a professional workshop, using fibreglass panels.
The guy who owns it now was going to convert his 316i using fibreglass as well, so for him that is okay. He wants to have a rather light "M3" racer.
Besides it would be very expensive to use metal parts if one could get them at all. It might be better to rescue the M3 they came from with today's prices.

As for the 4-studs, the car came with these spacers that convert to 5-studs, so that is covered. However, I am not sure if he will get the windscreen glued in, which is an other big give away of course.

How well do the GRP bits look close up? You can usually tell from about 10 feet away :D

it takes a LOT of effort to get the fiberglass panels right. A mate of mine owns a bodyshop and is currently making himself a rep. He is fortunate enough to have a genuine m3 in the at the min so has measured everything so its perfect. Took him months to get right though.

The owner of this black M3 replica (friend of mine) is now looking for a new owner for the car.
