well i went out for a play in my e30 m50 last night, i knew my mounts were abit soft but though it will be okay as it only scrubs a little on tight left handers, so off i went to a nice big roundabout with my mate in his 200sx,

was all going well till i decided to try and drift off the exit from the roundabout,

so there i was full lock left on the roundabout when i flicked it the other way to exit and my engine shifted over causing my exhaust to lock my steering linkage where it was, i couldnt straighten out and span up the curb in my rather low e30 :(

pictures show the damage :/

and now i have 4days to rebuild it before rtts, mission on

That hit hard 8O

If your going to be diffin/driving abnormally you will need much stronger mounts, I thought you had bought an RPM guard?

Oh dear....

Which mounts were they? ECP ones?

All that work on those wheels aswell! That is exactly why I don't drift my E30 as I just know I would wreck it. fiar play though with getting stuck in to repair it!
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

Dan the fortune teller!

That must of been one hell of an impact to fuck the engine arm up too

Have you checked the car thoroughly as I wouldn't like to gamble the damage stays with a couple of alloys, your sump and an ally mounting arm....

Nasty! I've used hockey pucks to good effect with my M50 (in my E21).

yea i used them on mine for about 2 weeks but mine has a standard e30 steering u/j set up so mine hit when cornering hard so i went for harder ones instead of changing my u/j i saw you wanted a set of e28 m5 mounts as you were using e34 ones so thought they would be fine with your set up! i was told that the e28 m5 mounts are the ones to have! :?

Where did you get them from? Sounds like they might not be E28/M5...

yeah the m5 mounts are normally fine, not your fault mate :) ive just picked up my new engine arm, went and had another nose around the car, everything looks to be okay, not 100% on the rear subframe though so may be changing that but the front subframe and steering rack all seem okay :)
