The drivers side lower trim on my car is mounted into two guides against the bulkhead, and held on with 3 plastic screws at the top, but still seems to sag a little about half way along. There is a slot in the trim panel to fix it to the underside of the steering column, but when I look on RealOEM there is nothing shown for my chassis No.

Is it as simple as a screw and washer? Or is it something cleverer?

Thanks!

there should be a plastic twist type screw in the slot you mentioned goes thru slot and into steering
column then push hard and twist to lock

no more sag :D

Pinch one from the plastic cowl that covers the back of the headlights.

I've seen the slot in the trim panel, and I've seen the matching slot in the underside of the column, but I've never seen any clip fixed here. Trim should be held up at the front by a plastic bracket on the bottom of the steering column and a three pronged spring clip above the accelerator pedal. Also hooks over the heater outlet a little.

I've not had one come to me with a fastener in that spot either, but the little black twist fastener does do the job perfectly.

Mine came with the twist fastener, not sure if it was originally there but works a treat.

Mine stopped my foot too. Eventually got knackered. So I roke the bottom part of it off and haven't replaced it. It's fine now!!

the things I do...

top one is from the plastic headlight cowl

centre is the 'normal' trim fixing

bottom is the one you don't have, and that Brian has never seen winkeye

....and no this isn't a spare - I've just dismantled my car for the photo

I use a small bolt with a nut and washer on it. Tidy and strong.
