Hi all. I need a little help, ive just got a touring off Dazleeds, and i want to convert it from a 1.8 to a 2.5. I have a 2.5 engine and box, also LSD. The engine i have has the loom already on it, but its a 2.5 out of a D plate E30, its a H plate touring. I know i need a 2.0 or a 2.5 rad. Dose anyone know of aything else i will need to change?
Thanks.
Vinni.

My 318i to 325i (both facelift cars) was a straight swap wiring wise, but there might be a few wiring differences with yours being a pre to post facelift swap. Nothing that cant be easily sorted though - calling Brianmoooore
One wire you may not have (depends how complete the 325i loom is), is the big wire that goes from the battery (or +ive post in the engine bay) to the starter. The 318i has a different setup to the 325i.
You will also need a 325i prop as the 318i prop will be too long and some 6cyl front springs.

Thanks jmc330i. TBH i have a hole pre face, just not the shell, prop, rad or cluch lol. So im ok for all the 2.5 legs and stuff. Are the sub frames the same on a 318? The engine loom is complete. I just hope its like Daz said, unplug, plug in and away.

Sub frames are the same between 318i and 325i, so the front legs will just swap over. The 318i touring will have the 51mm front struts and same brakes as the 325i anyway, so just pick whichever are the best bits.
I did my conversion because the M40 lump broke
Ive got to say, best thing I ever did
I mean the engine, box, LSD etc all came from my Sport which I drove for a couple years, but its just so much fun driving a quick touring - people just dont expect it

If you do it right, dont bother with the twin exit exhaust. It saves cutting the rear valance and mine just looks like 318i with a 3" exhaust and a tow bar316vinni wrote:With 318i left on the back, they get a short sharp shockjmc330i wrote: so much fun driving a quick touring - people just dont expect it

The pump in your 325i maybe different with it being a pre-facelift, but the fuel pump in the touring will be fine.
My 2.5 conversion is still running the 318i pump etc.
