When im not moving and rev up it glids through but when im driving the car it seems to jump now and then
Any thoughts
Could i just take apart the dials and clean up the needle and move around a few times to free up??
Thanks
Neil

does it do this the same time you are hitting larger than normal bumps in the road?

Cam shouldn't make a difference I wouldn't have thought, a lumpy cam shouldn't make the engine speed jump about that much!
Mine seems to move up smoothly, but sometimes you can catch it moving down in a series of kinda steps.
Just put it down to the Emerald ECU to start with as I'd not noticed it happen when the car was standard, but I wonder now having read this.

I wouldn't ask these few different people for any more car advice, if I were you!Danny06 wrote:My own sport would do the same but woz told from a few different people that it because i have a high lift cam fitted

Unplug and reconnect the C101 connector on the bulkhead a few times.
The tacho needle is driven by a couple of gears. On one occasion I had one that stuck occasionally due to a small piece of grit in between a couple of teeth. Would expect this to be better when moving though, not worse.
