I was changing the rubber fuel hoses for the return and supply to the rail and regulator and noticed that my alternator belt is coming apart with the top layer missing in some places!!

Is there a guide or wiki that someone can send to me because I need to get this job done ASAP. Also where is the best place to buy a replacement belt from that does next day delivery?? What size belt do I need?

(Facelift M20B20 manual with catalyst) ALL HELP REALLY APPRECIATED THANK YOUUUU - am meant to be driving to Cornwall next week for camping with mates so need the car working!!!!

PS I would photo for attention but my phone screen has just stopped working as well :cheese:

I've got the power steering belt of easily no problems there.

Am struggling to get the alternator belt loose enough to pull off, the adjustor is all the way to it's stop towards the car and surprisingly all of the teeth are in good condition!! The belt is very close but not quite there.

I don't want to to cut it as then i won't know if I can get it loose enough to put the new belt on

Engine ran briefly, alternator whining slightly so will check the tension and then run again. Am I right in thinking that I can check the voltage coming off the alternator to check that it is charging correctly?
