My odometer was working but just stopped. I have replaced the gears and it works when I manually turn the gears by hand however if I plug it in it still doesn't work when driving. The speedo works fine...
Any ideas?

Ok so I fixed it. I went over all the soldering on the pcb board on the back of the Speedo. On the side of the odometer area is a big coil of wound thin copper wire which at its ends coil around three metal prongs. It looks a very fragile connection. I noticed some corrosion on these prongs so I re-soldered them all together. Now it works. Not certain where the fault was in the end but it's sorted now.

had the exact same problem with my 1989 320 cab. read this and it has saved me a fair few quid! thanks for posting. there should be 2 wrapped round the middle prong and 1 each side. 2 of them were snapped on mine so took the same approach as you (although i didnt do the soldering). works like brand new now!!!knapmann wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2019 5:21 pmOk so I fixed it.
