I've taken out my dashboard binnacle as the odometer stopped working which I've now resolved , but thought I'd see if the SI batteries could be replaced at the same time as my service lights don't work and the inspection light remains on? The car is a 1987 325 sport which seems to have the stubby lithium batteries so I just wondered where I could get 2 from? I'm also missing the brake pad wear and temp gauge bulbs from it so can I get these from BMW or anywhere else fairly cheaply?

As said, suppliers typically include CPC-Farnell, Maplin, RS, etc.

The batteries you need are LiMnO2, 1/2 AA size, tagged for circuit board fitting.
The current CPC offering appears to be BT05108, which has wire leads so should be a universal fit, BT05111, which has tags, but only one at each end (original has two on + end),and BT05105 which has the correct number of pins, and is probably a direct replacement.
Note which end of the originals is the + end before you remove them, and make sure you fit the replacements the same way around.

Same battery as CPC, but more expensive.

Two. Note that these are for boards that use the lithium batteries only.drakesmith wrote:How many are need, as mine is up the wall?
Check which type you have before ordering.
