brake pad wear mate
are your pads due a change?
if not check the sensors
they are located at rear right and front left
and plug into the pads
also I am gonna move this into the tech section for you

Check the sensors, they probably haven't been fitted properly, and have caught and broken.Stolichnya wrote:hi, all brakes are fine, new about 1k ago. its a sign ive not seen B4, i could do with the sad dash picture from a manual saying what stuff does, its got me baffled

If the wire from the pad sensor is not clipped in place properly it can rub through on the inside of the wheel rim.
If all is well with the pad sensor(s), then there is a common, easily cured fault in the instrument cluster, that causes these symtoms.
Do a forum search for "220 ohm resistor" and my username.

The light won't go out, just buy a new one, and fit it properly, they're only a couple of quid!oze30 wrote:could you just unplug the sensor?
I'm sure Brian will tell you how it's the first thing he looks at when buying an E30, isn't it Brian!?
