Stopping the revs. rising at all is a simple matter. Simply unplug a (four pin?) connector with a black/purple wire coming off the engine loom a couple of inches from the ECU plug.
Not sure what the idle revs. should be with the aircon on, but it's set in the ECU software.

Won't significantly affect the performance, other than the engine might stall if the aircon compressor clutch cuts in when the engine is idling. The ICV can't react quickly enough to compensate for the sudden increased load.
