Hi Jordano

I had this dilemma recently and was told that it is easier to swap the engine than redo the engine management. It can be done but is a lot of work. It may be worth considering if you have a low mileage engine, if not, look around for one and swap it. The engine swap is a lot easier than you might think.

Hope this helps

I have all the pinouts and what where and when for the Jetronic/ motronic swop ( Ians work not mine BTW ) email me if you need it and I'll forward it, not too bad a job TBH.

all post '88 facelift E30s are motronic, 320 was Jetronic pre faclift as were the 4 cyl M10 engined cars.

Hi Ant thanks for your reply it has got me a bit confused, are you saying all i need to do is change the ecu and alter the wireing to change to Motronic do i not require the inlet manifold idle vale and all the other different parts used on the later system J.

to clear this is up a bit...

you'll need the motronic ECU, the loom and sensors and the matching inlet and injectors, front timing cover , crank sensors and pulley to get it all to run, none of which is hard to swop or major Ԛ£Ã”šÃ‚£ from a breakers yard

HTH a bit more
