Boot lock removal

Hi, trying to remove the rear boot lock, I've undone the bolts but can't seem to pull the externally black part off, any advice greatly appreciated, gonna try and upload a picture to help

Have you unbolted the solernoid from the framework, 2 7-8mm self tapper bolts? and unhook the little bar that joins to the lock?

Yep. Solenoid is removed, inclusive of arm. When I pull the cylinder from outside the boot, it won't pull away from the rear panel, is it just a case of pull harder ?

Cannot remember fully since i did my lock.
