Got a bit of a problem with the electric sunroof in the 318iS. Operate the switch and you can here the relay clicking but no movement on the sunroof.

Any ideas, can you operate the sunroof manually using the big nut on the motor or not??

Just want to see if I can coax it into working. :D

If you remove the cover and see the motor then manually turn the motor with a allen key.

Slacken off the big nut first, to disconnect the motor drive from the gearbox.
Assist the roof panel with one hand while you turn the allen key with the other, and when you get it open, give the sliders a good spray of WD40 or similar to soften up old sticky grease, then apply new grease.
To do the job properly, you need to dismantle the roof and runners, and remove the motor and cables before cleaning and relubricating everything, but the above should get it going again.
