slight little prob as title says my oil pressure light is constantly on the cars been sat since last sept oct I started it a couple of weeks ago and noticed it was on
as its been sat I just assumed that the switch had stuck so I bought a new one replaced it last night but no change light still stays on
now the weird bit is that I have a oil pressure gauge in the car and on start up it says it's up to 80-90 psi from cold I'd say is about normal and when up to temp gauge says 40-50 on idle ?
so what could it be and which one could be playing up??
cheers
oil pressure light stays on ??

What does the light do if you disconnect the wire from the pressure switch?
If it goes out, you have a faulty switch, but if it still stays on it's likely that the wire from it is shorted to the block, somewhere around the front of the engine.

Unplug the 20 pin C101 next to the fusebox to confirm that this puts the light out. If it does, there's definitely a short on the engine loom.

I've just looked and your right Brian as usual As I put the rocker cover on in the dark I've trapped the wire and squashed it so it s all clear now it's day light thanks brian
