It's the fan motor bearings.
Take the big metal plate off the bulkhead behind the engine, unclip the covers of the fan housings and with something with a long spout put a couple of drops of light oil on the bearings. Run the fan a bit and push the whole motor shaft sideways each way to work the oil into the bearings. Do this two or three times and that should shut them up for the next fifeteen years or so.

I was under the impression that the barings are nylon and not metal?
