The only place I know is in Leeds, they're official 'Hardy Spicer' agents and you have to twist their arm to do it, with no guarantee of success.

Basically it was a engine I picked up a while ago to do a 2.7 converstion on my 2.5, in the meantime I picked up an M52 so no longer have any use for it. Have heard it running, cam is noisy on it but this is irrelivent as its only the bottom end (crank/rods/block etc) that you want for the conversion.

They're the HS agents I meant Widge, they don't like doing the non-clipped UJs.

They tried to get a clipped UJ joint for my prop from the USA but finished up using a Cosworth rear flange and adaptor, that fouled my beam and I ended up modifying the beam. :x

Right cock up for 8 weeks and Ԛ£160, plus loads of hassle. :-x

Thats ugly as! But good solid looking welds - will look jolly good when painted. They were the only people I could think of so I suppose they are worth a try, I always recon that if they don't do it they will know who does!

They were really stumped with mine Widge, I wanted some kind of sliding arrangement in the rear to avoid loading up the box or diff with any engine movement. (E36 M3 prop, with rear CV joint and solid centre joint.)

Andy Fairbank dropped a wagon prop on his foot and disappeared off sick with all my dimensions. :-x

Mel sorted it eventually with the cossie flange and adaptor, but then it fouled the beam. The whole thing took 8 weeks to sort and the full story reads like a Laurel & Hardy script.

All because they were scared of the non-clipped UJ. :(

What exactly is the differance between a clipped and noon clipped UJ? Presumibly it is the circlips that hold the pivots in?

Yes, apparently some BMWs have the circlip type joints, D&F couldn't find one to use with the E30 M3 diff.

E30s have a sliding joint in the middle, that doesn't lock 'shock' tight, so you don't need one.

My prop had a solid middle joint, with a sliding CV joint on the rear, but the rear flange needed swapping for an E30 solid flange.

The HS agents could adapt the E30 M3 rear flange to slide, but the non-clipped joint scared them off, and a clipped joint BMW flange couldn't be found easily. (Hence the Cosworth rear flange with adaptor, that fouled the beam. :-x :x  )

In theory, there's no need for a sliding joint on a car with a bolted up diff, as opposed to a 'live' axle, but any engine movement causes loading on the prop ends. (G'box output shaft/diff pinion input flange) I didn't want this possibility.
