Yet another water leak. HELP!

Evening All

Whilst the sun may be shining, I am seeking advice for the leak that I have into the passanger front footwell.

I have looked through lots of other leak advice, but since I will be working on my car on the road, I was hoping that someone would have some problem specific advice as I want to minimise the work - time if possible.

When it rains, water comes in somewhere on the left hand side of the car, affecting that side of the glove box, dripping off the bonnet release handle, down the side kick panel and onto the floor.

My guess is that one of the drainage points from the roof has been disconnected at some point, allowing water into this area.

What should I be removing to check this? What should I look for, and what will I need to solve the problem if my suspicions are correct?

I would rather get the bits together to solve the problem in advance of taking that area of the car to bits so that it's a one hit mission.

Hi Bird,
Open the 'heater closing panel' on top of the fire-wall area, check the "L" bend hose (normally call it 'elephant trunk'), if it is cloged, soack it in the water and clean. mean time, check if there's any rest around this area, if so, water will leak thru the kick panels. Also clean the micro filter area bfore closing the panel.

I shall actually refer to my manuals to find the bits you describe in my car (I'm new at car maintenance).

and the place where rain is scarce !!!! but Climate pattern are changing now..
happy to help u bro. I had the same problem when i take the car for wash. If any off the drain pipes blocks and clogs, rescult will b flooding, this what happend to my case !!! RUST


I remove the 'trunk hose' and fixed rust. enofissue..
Also have a look at the sunroof drain hose which pass thru the A piller and see the leaking area at this moment would be appropriate.

It's raining here again in the UK, so I'm hoping for some dry weather this weekend to check out my elephant!

Remove the brackets of the glove box and see if you can see any rust on the bulk head.
As Kabeer mentioned block elephant trunk leads to this problem

I had nice rust hole which I patch up with aluminum mesh and heavy duty sealant which get rock hard.
This fix has lasted 8 years now

On the 325 I had discover there were tiny rust spot on the left inner arch which also contribute to my flood

Ideally best to get it welded

Hope this give you a few more pointers
