hi,a 325i auto has come along nice and cheap and im wondering what has to be changed to make it a manual? i have only ever had manuals....is it difficult? cheers

flywheel, starter motor, clutch, clutch fluid reservoir, master and slave cylinder, pedal box, ECU modifications, gear shifter, and of course, the gearbox!!

i dont think i've left anything out

can be done in a weekend

Dont have to modify the ecu stu. Mine ran fine when I converted the Alpina.. There is a plus where the DME connects to the to the vechicle loom and the EGS and you just disconnect it, as far as I remember. You might have to bridge the inhibiter switch but thats about it. Oh and dont forget the spigit bearing.

what sort of cost are you looking at for the conversion?

thats what i meant...

the spigot bearing will come with the clutch kit!

telski, tee is the man to talk to about this anyway, he did it in a weekend on his drive

Since when does the spigit bearing come with the clutch??

You thinking of the thrust/release bearing??

yes, you're right!!! i havnt had enough coffee yet!! was up all night playing with one of those nintendo Wii things... they're the nuts!!!

isnt the manual prop slighlty longer too?

The props are different, auto being shorter than the manual.

You'll also need the pipe which runs across the bulkhead connecting the two clutch cylinders.

Just sold them I'm afraid.

I've got a lovely close ratio getrag 260 box which will let you hit 60 in 2nd though. You can have the clutch slave and prop shaft for free if you buy it telski.
