Bonnet Release
Moderator: martauto
The other day i was opening the bonnet and the bonnet release cable snapped! Does anybody know how i can open the bonnet so i can replace the cable? Can i just go underneath the car and find the bonnet release catch and release it with my hands or is there another way Thanks

There's a slot for a screwdriver behind the LH headlamp grill.
ive tried putting a screwdriver there but it seems 2 do nothing. the catch seems to be in the center of the grill, ive been under the car and i can see the release cable ive tried to pull it but there is only so much i can pull. any other suggestions?

That's the only way that it'll ever open again. You should be able to access the release mechanism. If you have got a friend with an e30 look at theirs to see how it works with the bonnet open. This way you will identify what needs moving and what doesn't,
Otherwise post for more help and maybe a zoner in the area can help you out.
