I am in the process of replacing my bonnet Insulation but finding it almost impossible to get the old adhesive off of the underside of the bonnet. So far I have tried soaking with water, panel wipe, alcohol, meths and paraffin but none have worked, obviously can't use thinners.
Has anyone done this job before and had more success. I don't really want to stick the new insulation over the old adhesive.

There are more than one way to do this but I used WD40, Let it soak a bit and it will come away with a bit of help.mickes wrote: ↑Mon Aug 01, 2022 3:49 pmI am in the process of replacing my bonnet Insulation but finding it almost impossible to get the old adhesive off of the underside of the bonnet. Agreed, don’t bother removing itCloggy Saint wrote: ↑Mon Aug 01, 2022 6:15 pmSave yourself a lot of effort and don't bother, just remove the dry flaky foam. I stuck new foam on old adhesive about 12 years ago and it's still holding firm.
