I've got a 1984 318i with no power steering. I want to keep it this way but wondering is there any racks out there which would give me better turning ratio?

not difficult if you can source all the parts of a breaker! however the brackets for the m10 power steering pump maybe a little harder to come by unless there the same as the ones used on an m40 then your golden!

you will need

power steering pump/brackets
pipes
rack
drive belt
maybe a different pulley for the crank also to drive the pump!

if fitting either an e36 e46 z3 rack ect.. i believe you need spacers for the bolts on the rack to subframe! also you will need extended pipes and e30 tie rods. there maybe more to do a bit of a search on the site and you should find more info!
