As the title. My heater only forks on the max setting (4)
Any suggestions?

There were two threads in the last week, IIRC.
Fan motor is dying through lack of lubrication, and has killed the resistor pack for the slower speeds. If you're lucky, a clean up of the thermal cut out contacts on the resistor pack may save it.

Not used the Wiki thing before, and think i need a bit more practice.
Did find something about cleaning or replacing the resistors though, so i'll have a look at that.

I had a look at the fan motor today but couldn't seem to find the resistor board to give it a clean. I hadn't seen any pictures, so wasn't 100% sure what i was looking for. Having just looked at some pics online, it seems to sit under the motor. Unless i'm going blind there definately wasn't anything there. Would the motor work at all without the resistor board? Wondering if the previous owner took it out, as the fan has only ever worked on 4 while i've had the car.

Depends on what model e30 you have. Not all resistor packs are located in the same place. It might be tucked up to the side of the glove box.
