by fitting a new slider valve, they are about £120 from the dealers,
are they hard to set up or just bolt on??

Take it off and clean it out , then put in in water and boil it up slowly
it should be open when cold and close up when hot .
i had to help the spring push down the pistion at first after cleanng it out , but now its work fine
its also a v good time to flush and replace the old antifreeze too !!!
hope this helps

There is an idle speed adjustment on the drivers side of the inlet manifold...look for a barrell shaped unit facing the firewall with a few vacuum hoses of it...someone may have adjusted this to compensate for the faulty air-slide valve. Of course, you will need to re-adjust after replacing the valve!
