Hello there.
My fuel gauge flips to full as soon as i turn on the car (1990 316i).
After a little while (some times long) it settles down to nearish what's in the tank - the needle can flutter a little bit up or down, as if it can't make it's mind up.
The fuel warning light works as normal as far as i can tell so my point is... is there anything i could try that does not lead me to taking the dash out? A fuel tank sensor problem perhaps...?
Thanks
Kit

Start with the speedo - shouldn't take you long. Remember if possible to wrap the end of your screw driver in duct tape to stop scratches when prising parts open or apart.TheRam wrote:I guessed I'd not get away with it without taking the dash out.
Thanks

Alternatively only use plastic tools.

what needs 'prising open or apart'? Everything is perfectly designed and screwed together.Tedswagon wrote: when prising parts open or apart.
