Hi guys

Any advice on a 2.9 built vir Sr20ve 86mm piston... Connecting rods size and any other mods that should be done?

Can i use e36 328i crank (84mm) with 135mm rods with the sr20ve piston?...

Standard Sr20ve setup:
136.3mm conmecting rods
86mm stroke crank
86mm Piston

Never heard of using that Nissan piston, I suppose anything can be made to work but it is a lot of trial and error for something that can be guaranteed not to work as well as one of the tried and tested methods.

Why not get the correct Mahle Motorsport piston and make a 2.9 known to work?

Its also a 4 valve per cylinder engine so the piston crown is completely the wrong shape

The Sr20Ve have a flat top actually almost similar to the one from an e36 325i/328i motor with a slight dish making its compression 11.1

Makes sense... A friend told me it will work and made about 240hp N/A on the wheels with that setup with 276/284 cam... Maybe ill try the C20XE piston, that's a pretty common 2.9 build but compression sits at 10.0 with that piston... Hoped i could go about 11.0 +

A dished piston that gives 11:1 compression, that cannot be in an M20 build surely!

There is a lot more to a piston than the bore and CR
