Another day off work, another day in the garage!

Otherside getting there, halfshaft back in

Nice and clean ABS sensor, i cleaned the life out of the trigger rings on the halfshaft

Some nice Brembo standard rear discs, £40 odd the pair from GSF. BMW wanted £45 PER disc, jog on i said because they won't last twice aslong as these brembos.
One thing which annoys me on bmw's, well the new ones is how quickly they rust! So heres my attempt with some hightemp paint. I hope it works. I did 2 coats

All nice and dry ready to go on, and adjust setup me handbrake

Nice and fookin tight handbrake, 3 to 4 clicks and the wheel can't move is how we like it! Too many E30's with an erectional handbrake levers!

/\ Does this look right for how the wires around here go. To me it seems good but your memory only remembers how they run on a dirty car and it looks alot different under here!

Like a dick i forgot the diff oil temp guage for the vent guage, so heres me threading the wire through the bmw grommet to kept it factory looking

All in and looking ok, that black clip holding the speedo and temp wire up, f**king pound £1.20 each from BMW!
Got have it though

Looking like a rear end

New rubber grommets for the fuel tank, the washers are re used, they are nearly £2 new each so i went tight for some reason, but i bought new bolts

Tank in! I didn't bother connecting much up, that can be 2moro. I was quite keen to get her off the axle stands to see how low it might sink..................

Bit low innit, i like it. Defo cooking on gas at the moment
So just the calipers/brake lines left, the filler neck and fuel breather system and the rear anti roll bar with drop links. So very nearly finished in this area!

No no, i'd like it done this year if i can. For santa pod or Gaydon would be nice but we'll see how it goes.
Alex i've repainted the underside Vauhall Gazelle beige
Its a bit too yellow for the factory look tbh its more like Peugeout antellope beige and whiter lol. I thought it would look better than bits of old, the grey the bodyshop did and the black bits i've added also tidying up some flaky parts.
I've got the part number for the BMW stuff, but you need a shultz gun and a compressor to use it Alex. Its f**king great stuff though. Its not the stuff the factory applied new but close, it only comes in black or grey but you can paint on it as you can see lol

Epic work!
I spent a good few hours of my last stint onboard my tug rereading this thread pretending to check weather patterns, its inspiring stuff.
How much longer do you think you need to finish it?

Thanks!
I need more money, and time! Really now is the time to start re-building the engine to keep it flowing. Still plenty i can get on with here, which i shall do, seeing as this cold weather is keeping me off work for another week it seems
So this keeps me busy and out of trouble.
I'm aiming for an MOT on it this year, it will be the latter part of the year no doubt!
Alex underneath it was mostly beige, but the arches and other parts have over spray in black from the factory.

WD 40 the screws and leave them overnight. I only managed to snap one screw. A little too small to use an east out!

Thanks i've managed to sort it now, much to my relief

Tank plumbed in here both sides,

Comes up empty on the clocks now so must be working as the light is on also!!

These were in the bloody way! So i thought today they can actually be fitted so on they went shiney new splash guards

Gave in here a good clean up

Alpina long range tank, extra 30 litres so i can spend over £100 filling it up now
That breather pipe hanging down there comes in through the inner arch at the top through a big rubber grommet. I measured it today 30mm it needs to be. I shall be in tears doing that!

Shitty bit of carpet to hide it,needs a serious clean first

This has been bugging me for a while now, the repair panel from bmw didn't come with a threaded stud to fix these trims. I was going to Riv nut or drill it and nut and bolt it. But i'm thinking sod it now, as the pina tank holds it all nicely, plus they love to rust here and drilling or anything like that isn't going to help the matter.
What do we think not quite 100% but..........

Agreed, leave it loose so you can regularly check behind/waxoyl it. My Sport went badly there.

it was rusty there before so i'm going to leave it as its not now as it had a large section of inner inner arch welded in there! The pictures will be somewhere on here, pages 20-25 i think is bodywork

Agreed, Leave it. Hindsights great but a little m6 thread brazed in place before paint would have been a nice tough but hey ho. F*ck drilling it now. asking for aggro.
