cheers mate , i did have a deadline of 9th may to have it mot'd and taxed for a big meeting at croft race circuit , i wouldn't of been racing the car anyway and just attending but that's out the window , and i'm just gonna plod on taking my time till it's ready now , no pressure

upgrades the e36 rack to e46 clubsport


fitted a new bonnet release cable and got the engine bay looms back where they all go ,still got clutch ,brake lines and servo to fit then it's ready for the engine/box sometime next week

yes it is , i've been running it since the m50 conversion package 4 yrs ago and the past 5 mots .

I seen many posts about one or two pulling at the last 90 degree even with a good non-over heated block.
have a read from page 36 when i fit a replacement m52 that had a f00ked head gasket , that engine [ m52 b28 ] was in my car for two years and is under my work bench as a spare, still runs spot on

Did you manage to measure the valve to piston clearance by any chance while you was doing the build.?
That's something i'd love to know..
B30 pistons seem to be 1.8mm below the block deck.
As then a standard 1.75mm can be used ???
And up the compression on a skimmed head ?
M54B30 gaskets are 0.70mm if i recall
your better off starting your own build thread mate , you'll get plenty of help with your questions like i did .
i know when i had the m52 head skimmed [ on the 2.8i engine] it had 12 thou took off it and was fine with a standard gasket .
