Stick it on a rolling road and find out, if its down then you can do something about itstenni wrote:I live in coventry, but i'm little concerned that my sport has lost a load of sauce if punto gt can take me.
The Punto is 1040kg, and 134bhp = 128.8bhp/ton STANDARDstenni wrote:I live in coventry, but i'm little concerned that my sport has lost a load of sauce if punto gt can take me. And I was kinda tryin'. However, a mate has told me that those thing are sub 8 seconds and can reach 138mph, so feeling less bad about my 17 year-old retro german car.
E36 higher spec motors are pretty awesome; m3 e36 will hurt any sporty saloon/coupe. Or at least it should!
Why!!!! Horrible things! Nice 6 pot engines, but horrible cars. E36s are just engine donors for E30s.stenni wrote:Just wondered if i should think about e36 now
What an utterly stupid, mindless and feckless comment.Brianmoooore wrote:Why!!!! Horrible things! Nice 6 pot engines, but horrible cars. E36s are just engine donors for E30s.stenni wrote:Just wondered if i should think about e36 now

Honestly don't know TobyToby_Unna wrote:continuing off topic... is that an XS power/SSautochrome turbo Dave?
looks identical to mine, and specs are same if i remember.
if so it's pretty big for a 2.5
yes badDave, that should about do itBadDave wrote:Fuzzyfuzzy wrote:turbo it......170bhp in a big heavy car doesnt really cut it these days.
Did you mean something like this
The spec is as follows;
Model: T04E "P" Trim
Compresser: AR .50
Exhaust: AR .84
76 trim T350 turbine wheel (stage 5)
T04E housing 2.5" inlet 2.5" outlet
56 trim GT40 compressor wheel 2.41/3.22 (61mm inducer) and flow 65lb/min
Divided Turbo Flange
Going to be fitted to a Malachite Green 325 Touing sometime in the near future once all the parts are sourced/fabricated
One on the right is a Nissan 200sx T28 for comparison puposes
Should last a bit longer than the "quick hit" bottle of Nitrous
Once it's done, which WILL take a while(funds are minimal at the mo).fuzzy wrote:yes badDave, that should about do itBadDave wrote:Fuzzyfuzzy wrote:turbo it......170bhp in a big heavy car doesnt really cut it these days.

i like e36's feels much more refined, quieter.oakey wrote:i'm sure a slightly tweaked punto turbo could deal with a standard 325i. nothing to be ashamed of!

E30 is basic.
although id probly buy an E39 instead
Odd how the E36 forum boys don't often make snidy comments about the E30. But they don't have much to prove, they've got a better car.m-dtech wrote:i like e36's feels much more refined, quieter.oakey wrote:i'm sure a slightly tweaked punto turbo could deal with a standard 325i. nothing to be ashamed of!

they dont even need to be that hot either. warm hatches could worry a 325 although the blinkered dont like to admit itE30BeemerLad wrote:325's just ain't that fast mate
plenty of hot hatches will worry a 325
Yes.e36boy wrote:I have always wondered why there is so many snidy comments on here towards the e36. Could it be down to bitterness because the e36 is indeed a much better car
