Fuel additives...?!!! spend your hard earned on a decent set of tyres, or better still get the ECU and Motronics engine sensors working optimally.

The only one i have used that worked... was STP inlet valve cleaner on my old 323i. The car just was not running as sweet as she used to, a Mercedes mechanic recommended the stuff, so i tipped some in the tank, and after 100 miles the car was running so much smoother! used to repeat the process every 12 - 15K it really made a difference! It's damn hard to buy these days, comes in a bright yellow bottle.

Never tried anything else.

Redex is good for old injection engines, can help do a little internal cleaning for you which is always good, more a keep it as it is rather than making it better type thing though

if that makes sense!

I'd agree with idreambeemer, Every so often i chuck a bottle of redex in with a full tank. Seems to be a bit smoother after half the tank or so........or maybe thats just me!
Gaffa tape is like "the force" - it has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the universe together.
There's nothing that shouts "Poor Workmanship" more than wrinkles in the Gaffer tap

in my experience depends on the condition of your engine if its really battered then treatment does help a little otherwise no signifficant diffrence

The only thing i have every used is 10Kboost......although not a "put in your petrol thingy", it helped to smooth out a rough idle......
