Has anyone got any info on this conversion? I was looking at either a V8 conversion or an RB25DET, there is very little info on the RB25 conversion and loads on the V8, HELP needed.

That's because that's a rice burner, and putting it into an E30 would be sacrilege.RizlaChris wrote:here is very little info on the RB25 conversion

It's been done in a silver estate recently, not much information but I've seen it in real life and it's been for sale since. The owner was very impressed with it.

I wouldn't think twice about putting in a "rice burner" RB engine. Most likely 10x easier than an M20/M50/M52 turbo conversion and the exhaust is on the left making clearance to the steering no longer an issue.

it's huge fun, totally reliable and goes like stink and i think the little twink looks better than the more recent BMW lumps in the bay.

I am just toying with engine ideas at the min, i like the sound a V8 makes but i also like the noise a turbo makes so just trying to see what info is about. I want something that is going to be fun but reliable. any engine is a possible at the moment.

How deep is your wallet, Surprised at that comment from Brain because its clear he really knows his stuff but maybe not prepared to sacrifice the badge loyalty for speed.
Hellish motor with serious potential, whats your pan for the car ? If its drifting i would go the v8 route every time.
This reminded me of this other post anyway might get some info here

Its not for drifting, not saying it wont be going sideways cos it probably will one or twice at some point, the 1.8 engine that it has in it has destroyed the bottom end, previous owner not me, and i thought as the engine is out i might as well spice it up a bit, other options are a V8 or even a 330d, who knows, all i know is it wont be having another 1.8 in it.
