Hi guys, rather than start 2 threads, thought it best to combine.
With the gearbox going in this w'end, i was considering lightening the flywheel a little after reading up about it. Its a 325 m20. I dont want it rattling on idle so wasnt going to go mad. All the threads talk about weight removal but i couldnt see any references to how much thickness to be removed, which i think my machinist would prefer to know rather than keep removing to weigh.
I will also be putting the pas fluid in. I'm sure i have read not to use normal pas fluid but something else? Its an e46 rack with Dan's kit.
Much appreciated if anyone can help with this

For pas fluid Dextron 3 I've read on here is the one go for. A new and better quality of oil (replaced Dextron 2) that's less likely to overheat.
As for the flywheel. Magpie on here has sold a few lightened ones recently. Perhaps pm him for info

Dexron 3 for fluid
5.3kg is even safer
The weight of the flywheel doesnt cause rattle, that will be your shagged gearbox
