I'm not sure about that. For a long time a Mark 2 RS2000 was worth more than a Mark 1. Now they aren't.bss325i wrote:If it was going to happen it would have all ready.djk wrote:I think techI values will overtake techIIs

Once e30s in general have become bona fide classics, how many original techI sports will be around? Added to the fact that they are more 'old-fashioned' looking, I can see demand for them going up while supply continues to dwindle. Since I have been on here, interest in techIs has gone up noticeably - I can only see that continuing. I wasn't trying to turn this into one of the endless zone 'which is better?' threads - I think we can all do without another one of those - just trying to point out that good techIs do seem undervalued in the present market.Andyboy wrote:I'm not sure about that. In the rust stakes the Tech 2 is a couple of strides behind but in the next few years rust will claim a few more. Conversely, I found a Tech 1 is a breakers yesterday and relived it of it's LSD - the only thing worth having off it.
They will have their day when E30's are really rare (they aren't yet) - another 5-10 years. I'm not sure they will be worth more, but values will even out. I prefer the early car by a mile, much sharper looking.

Andy, where was this Tech 1 you speak of?Andyboy wrote:I'm not sure about that. For a long time a Mark 2 RS2000 was worth more than a Mark 1. Now they aren't.bss325i wrote:If it was going to happen it would have all ready.djk wrote:I think techI values will overtake techIIs

I was trying to say the tech2 and s2 are more likely to have been modified which they arebss325i wrote:I'm still lost.325isporttech1 wrote:Do i need to? its quite self explanatory. Anything you can find in a demon tweeks cataloguebss325i wrote: Define "boy racer ad ons" for both RST and 325i Sport.
I cant think of anything that comes as standard on series twos and tech2's that you would find in a demon tweeks catalouge.
In fact if anything the body kit on a S1 is a lot larier with the S2's being alot more understated.
They still do!swindler wrote:ANyone remember once upon a time tourings went for huge money compared to saloons...?
On its way to China now. It was in the stack next to the crusher, not that there was much metal left. If was a shattered wreck with no glass and a destroyed interior, clearly been stood for a long time. She was a D plater in Diamond with grey houndstooth. Bodykit, front seats and wheels had already been fragged from it. The gearbox was the same HC coded unit as I took from that '88 Touring so I left it there.Kedge wrote:
