Hello Guys.
I'm New To This Site.
Does Any Body Have A Info On What Is Required To Fit A E28 M30 3.5 Motor Into A 320i or 325i.
And Would The Front And Rear Brakes Fit Straight On.

If you can get your engine from either an E34 or E32 it will make things easier for you as you will have to swap the sump and oil pick up pipe to E34/2 items with an E28 M30.

Where abouts are you based ?

Some reading for you....

welcome to the zone mate

Davetouring has an E34 3.5 lump, M3 Propshaft and engine mounts (mounts are specially fabricated and cost Ԛ£120 alone)

Think he wants Ԛ£350 for the lot or something around that price. Good price, you will still need some other bits like gearbox and radiator but it's a good start

Where abouts are you based?

Theres a couple of things a little bit wrong on that site.

It says you need a shortend prop made but you can just use an M3 prop.(i have shortend prop though as i couldn't find one in time)

It says you need to cut the bulkhead for engine position 3 but you only need to hammer it.

Theres a chap in the US who says he has used a 325 gear linkage so there may be no need to chop up the E28/24/32/34 rear linkage.

It is a good site though and i have there engine mounts on my car.

Hi diamondblack... welcome to the site! Did you manage to get the boot and bonnet back ok? Appologies once again for the delay in getting back to Loughborough - i officialy hate M1 traffic!

you should check out some of the sites they have listed above and espeically Toby Unna's & andy335tourings cars, I have seen those two first hand and they are awesome!

Glad to see you are taking up the project... I cant wait to have the funds to start mine :D

For driveshaft you can use E28 M30 front part and E30 325 rear part, works fine in motorposition 1 and 2.
E30 transmission crossmember is a direct fit also.
You should really check out www.e30.de / 335 , there's a lot of info.

locate 325ix washerfluid reservoir where battery used to be and battery to trunk. E28 M30 cooler is a direct fit also.

From www.e30.de / 335 you can get "electronic schematics".

In the end it's a easy swap, not a direct fit but almost.

I've M30b34 in my cab but having some problems with megasquirt'n'spark, fitting engine in there is a weekends task (yes, you can drop it with transmission
