"Made" a new door card, (the mirror switch wiring rubs on the window as it winds
), replaced some dodgy bulbs, "made" a new windscreen wash solution, replaced a windscreen wiper, gave it a clean and a hoover inside, fitted a new battery bracket, bled one brake, glued things like the check panel in place, bolted down the ecu, tidied up some cabling. Admired my "handywork" ....

Wednesday it's headed out (1st time in over a year) for an MOT.... hopefully.

Refitted the arch liners and front under tray/splash guard then took it for a short blast, so much exhaust noise, it's soooo much fun!
I need to investigate why occasionally it won't pull away without 2k+ rev blip, doesn't always do it.

Set tappets. Didn't make a shite of difference

Bolted the new front bumper back together and onto the car, realised the valance is very much bent and needs a new one. Went to swap broken headlight for one of the spares, has wrong bulb holders so needs different type. Started to look better and worse all at once today, maybe i'll start a journal ...
Got those on my Sport. Great winter wheel as they are so easy to cleanbab-91 wrote: Tried the style 15's on as i've had them sitting... meh!!

Also, no f*cker wants to nick the centre caps, unlike the BBS caps!

Removed the exhaust, rear heat shield, and log manifold on my cabby, checked the spark plugs, drained the oil and test fitted the magnex 6 branch which is going on, with a matching stainless zaust.

Gave it a good clean and a damn good polish after 7 weeks of cutting/grinding/welding and painting blar blar blar, which only resulted in one trip to A+E. LOL, metal filing stuck in my eye ball which was scraped away with a sharp needle after it was injected with an anaesthetic.

took the rocker cover off the engine that wouldnt start ....

9 of 12 rocker arms snapped all on the inlet side ,cam belt looked ok ,heads coming off later ,bought it as a spare engine to drop in while i removed mine to turbo build that ,but it wouldnt start when i put it in so took it back out now deciding if i should just bust it for bits and go 24v or rebuild it

Blimey, what would have caused 9 rockers to snap all at once?!

Rebuilt the front struts replacing the top mounts, spring pads and washers (dampers and springs done 600 miles ago). ARB drop links and bushes also done.
Power steering pipes replaced as they were leaking, rocker cover and inlet manfold cleaned and sanded in prep for paint.
New fuel pipes in the engine bay plumbed in.
Injectors removed to send away for a refurb. Lots of little BMW bags arrived today with all the new nuts, washers, gaskets, O rings and a few vacum pipes so I can get the inlet side all put back together.
Altogether good progress since it was sunny up here today.
Lots more arriving tomorrow from CP4L and another order going into BMW for bits I forgot.

Washed and polished with autoglym products before a healthy coating of their excellent HD wax. Refitted the summer wheels, 15"BBS coated in Vredestein Sportrac 3s. Drove it 60 miles to Cambridge and the aging Vredesteins are so much more noisier than the Goodyear Ultragrip 8 Winters that were fitted. This will probably be their last 6 months on the car before I replace them. Sadly one of my winter tyres has a puncture so will also need replacement but at least new ones are cheap on eBay at this time of year.
Next week? I need to get some 3M underseal ordered for a couple of very minor touch up jobs and then the plan is to just enjoy driving it.

Changed;
Timing belt, tensioner pulley and spring (there was no spring in before
)
Water pump
Cam seal
D bungs in head
Coolant
Oil
Oil, fuel and air filter
Spark plugs.
and replaced cable ties with a few satisfying clips and housings that BMW intended to keep wires tidy around the front of the engine.
Did that last week.
Yesterday swapped my faded grey grilles around the lights with nice black ones.
Today adjusted the valves for the first time... and have made them worse
