Was it your car that ripped the diff out? Remember some pics of twisted/torn metal :)

So you have a little less power than an F1 car, a higher top speed and non of the aero?

Something like that :)

Only some M3 aerodynamics, will be re-installing the flat panels under the car, and some sort of front air dam and splitter, not forgetting the rear diffuser

Yes, i saw this years ago, there is also a vid of an RX7 doing 215mph and does the same thing. this is the main reason i didnt exceed 200mph.

So you have a little less power than an F1 car, a higher top speed and non of the aero?
yes, but your missing a major factor. the f1 car will have significantly more drag at those kind of speeds for 3 reasons.
1: its an open cockpit vehicle, which causes masses of drag
2: its an open wheel vehicle, which causes masses of drag
3: its set up for high downforce with in excess of 600kg of downforce at those speeds, which causes masses of drag.

basically by having "non of the aero" hes far better off. all those wings and bits are there to get it around a corner faster, not make it faster in a straight line. if you enclosed the wheels of the f1 car, put an aircraft style canopy on it and removed all the wings, (basically going "bullet") you would be looking at a much faster f1 car in a straight line but one that would be shit (and illegal) in an f1 race.

theres something else your forgetting, his car is turbocharged and an f1 car is na.
now i cba to go into the why, but he will have a hell of a lot more torque than the f1 car, which makes a big difference, after all its the area under the graph which dictates a fast car.

Correct me if Im wrong but the reason the rx7 lost it is because after 200 mark the owner increase the oxygen mixture which created an imbalance and he then lost it no the speed itself at the time

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Wouldn't worry so much about bits flying off as the whole thing taking off! :D

The car started feeling light at approx 150+.
Just read the rest of the thread....190 in an e30?! I'm amazed but impressed that it stayed on the ground. I wonder how long it would have if you'd maintained 190? lol

You're nuts, btw!! In the nicest possible way! :D :D

Correct, but im pritty sure that if it had enough downforce theres no way he would have lost it at over 200.

Im not bothered if i can do 200mph just as long as i know its planted!

Its possible the increased oxygen boosted the engine to the point the tyres could no longer transmit the power to the track surface.
