Have no problem with either Stance or Drift forums, this is
an ever changing forum and as such should be open to all.
As long as either formats are keeping E30,s on the road
and are not mechanically dangerous, or driven irresponsibly,
then good luck to them.
No one is forced to enter a forum.
If people want an OEM, buff your cars daily, drive them when it's sunny forum, try the BMWCC.
Just because some members on here don't like drifting or stance doesn't mean it's wrong or doesn't have a place on here.
I know a couple people who don't agree with my choice of engine conversions in the past (or any conversion in one case), but they don't feel need to come on here and try to banish the engine swap section from the forum.
Some people really need to wake up and realise that the Zone and the world of E30s is bigger than their ideal surrounding their own ideas, cars and BMW logo polishing rags.

But that means also being clear on what the site key reason for being is....
Just my fourpenneth of what I'd do if I had the data
Good idea but time consuming!!
Well said Steve.Steve wrote:You're right, there are other forums to cater for drifting and stance but just e30s, no? Should I delete the for sale forums because we have Ebay that sells lots of E30 stuff?
I know for a fact there are members on here with drift and stance projects, done to the highest standard that are to afraid to post. A lot of our members are also members of Driftworks and Stancework, which are both exelent sites !
If you think the Zone is a OEM only site, then you're on the wrong site, all I've ever asked is that you enjoy your E30, and enjoy them we will

2 separate sections will allow the non OEM cars to be show cased without getting an ear full from the diehard OEM members and get advise/tips from the more expirenced members. OEM fans can visit the OEM section without getting p1ssed off. Just have to make sure rules are set so there’s no abuse when 1 wonders into the other forums. This would mean more turds on show for the neutrals and possibly more activity on in the zone.Steve wrote:You're right, there are other forums to cater for drifting and stance but just e30s, no? Only thing that will (and has already I fear) drag this site down is people's inability to accept cars/styles/mods etc that they don't agree with and fill threads up with useless and pointless posts complaining/bitching about them.B7 wrote: welded diffs or stripping the paint and letting it rust is wrong on so many levels and will drag this site down.
That's a matter of opinion! From what I've seen it's gained just the reputation I want from driftcocks.jmc330i wrote: Unfortunately the Zone seems to have gained a bad name on other forums
Making statements like that promotes the wrong image IMO.B7 wrote: The less we see off drifting and stance cocks the better. Wrong image imo
I'm not a member of any drift forums, I've seen comments on both BMW related and non-BMW forums that show this place is regarded as a bit of a laughing stock.Brianmoooore wrote:That's a matter of opinion! Yes, but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any distinction in the eyes of some on here. As soon as the words drift or stance are mentioned all hell breaks loose.Kos wrote:Yes Brian , I like it !Brianmoooore wrote:That's a matter of opinion! Proper drift cars welcome and are cars with a stance. But the dog shite scrap that are wannabes of both 'scenes' can fkoff
This was an argument in a drift thread that angered me, people saying 10k drift specific cars are fine but amatuer enthusiasts are not. There seems to be a large grey area between D1GP spec and council fuckers sliding round roundabouts with a welded diff filled with stereotypes and not many facts.jmc330i wrote:Yes, but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any distinction in the eyes of some on here. Just because someone can afford to build a proper specced drift car doesn't mean they have more right to post up about it on here compared to another guy who is enjoying himself drifting a sub £1k car.
Well of course there is!! It's lovely to see the odd B10 or 635 to break up the whole e30 thing.jmc330i wrote:B7 wrote:
If drifting etc is to be pushed to other forums, then is there a need for the 'other BMW chat' section? - this is the E30 zone after all and there are other forums available for other BMWs.
It is my state of mind thanks. And Stancecocks and Driftcocks ha been a saying on here for a long time now and used freely.Rancid wrote:Making statements like that promotes the wrong image IMO.B7 wrote: The less we see off drifting and stance cocks the better. Wrong image imo
*Closed minded and offensive*
Whether or not that's truly your state of mind, the way you word your post (by calling people interested in drifting - a valid motorsport - and stance - a valid form of styling - "cocks"), anyone who's interested in these things is instantly a c**k; However this is clearly untrue and to make a statement like that doesn't exactly look good.
Funny you mention that "Rat" look Trevor.B7 wrote:jmc330i wrote:Well of course there is!! It's lovely to see the odd B10 or 635 to break up the whole e30 thing.B7 wrote:

As kos says, drifting as a motorsport and stance is one thing. And if theres a place for it here, I can choose whether or not to enter that area, but knobs who think they can drift in Tescos carpark or take shares out in nitromores to then strip their paintwork off is not an image I think should be promoted on a site trying to preserve a model. There are other sites that cater for that.
