Endsliegh Insurance used to be a good place for new drivers.
I know Tesco's can be cheap.
It really depends tho what you mean 'cheap'. After having my old car side swiped I really would recommend paying a little bit more and going fully comp...it's just not worth the hassle. At least make sure you get good legal cover regardless. Through no fault of mine, it has taken almost six months to get everything sorted out.
If you are going to use it as a second car, then consider getting low milage allowance. Ask the insurance company to tailor the policy to your needs. I know it's a pain but it is really worth while taking your time as this is one of the main costs associated with buying a car!
I really hope you buy a BMW, especially a E30. Learning to drive in a RWD car will make you a better driver in the future...I promise it's a lot more fun as well!

and i love the E30. I was just wondering is it viable for me to get a 316i for my second car, and will insurance companies actually insure me? if so anyone have a rough guide on how much third party on it would be? Cheers.
