Cylinder head is worth keeping if it's sound and un-cracked.

Block may sell to some-one looking to overbore to 84mm to be able to re-use 325 pistons.(Re-bore is cheaper than a re-bore and oversize pistons!)

If your putting a 2.5 in just weigh the 2.0 in!

Once you put the 2.5 in you will want to skip the 2.0 anyways, that's what I did lol

Some parts are interchangable no?? Strip what might come in use in the future should something fail on the new donk and scrap the rest.

Shame if its low mileage and a good donk but You'll end up weighing it in.

Take off bits like the sump, PAS pump and alternator but I doubt you'll find a buyer for it unless someone on your doorstep has just blown up their 320i and cant afford the insurance on a 325i.

I was tripping over a very strong pre-facelift 325i engine with all ancillaries and gearboxbox for about 2 months in my garage that I only wanted £200 for so just cut your losses and get it on the 'bridge.

how much should i get if i weigh it in?

and i can sell some parts of it like gearbox, head, sump, PAS, anything else?

is that true that 2.0 have diffrent spark plugs than a 2.5 ?

i just hope the 2.5 donk is as good and healthy as the 2.0 :(

Lol, had a feeling you'd say that so my back up exit strategy would be the missus wont let me

If I was you, i'd strip it down into parts, clean them up to new, store them in a shed and then when people want those parts, send them a PM with your price plus postage etc... You'll get rid of it in no time. Will take you a hour or so to dismattle.

the con rods are regularly sought after so it's worth keeping them aside, as with the head, you'll end up kicking yourself one day it doesn't deserve scrap treatment.. The sump may come in handy also! TBH the rest is just about junk if it wasn't for the steady ebb of 2.0l deviants wanting replacement bits, it depends how you feel about preserving the availability of spares for the masses, and how much spare space you have!

Wouldn't the 2.0 gearbox give better torque than the 2.5?? It's what i heard so don't scrap the box...

not exactly torque, the 2.0l box ratios are closer to the ones in the 325 sport box.. a good mod, and as much as the torque rating of the 2.0l box is less than the sport box, they've never been known to explode when fitted to the 2.5

I stripped mine down, sold head, exhaust mani, inlet mani, con rods, wiring loom, timing covers and a few other bits.

Kept the starter motor, alternator, couple pipes etc.

Now just got the crank, block, to go to the weigh bridge.

I really enjoyed stripping it, now I hope not to look so puzzled when peeps to engine internal talk and meets.

I don't know anyone personally, however, I know the PBMW race series uses exclusively 320i blocks, and as such, there is a demand for them.

Try advertising on here, and stick a notice in the Motorsports section:

Alternatively, try the PBMW For Sale forum:
