Dezzy, old foam with pancake filter imprint is in the CR24V rules

Spray-top bottle of white spirit or something like that, let it have a good soak in, pinch the plastic spreader for doing the icing on the xmas cake, spray and scrape. The bedsheet's a good idea unless you want your neighbours thinking you're the kind of person who hoovers their engine bay.....

take the bonnet off and gently place it upside down on the lawn...
soak in thinners and it just rubs off ,
if your council like me, you will probably spill thinners everywhere and kill all the grass
