mhuk - not a great deal of performance difference, it revs a bit higher under load and it's smoothed out the power delivery which was what I was after.
It's not a speedtouch chip though (he didn't have one for my ecu at the time - I have heard good things about them however) - got it from Ebay - quite cheap so pretty happy with it.

Chris, follow the E30 Zone Wiki Chip Fitting Guide advice, i.e., let it idle for at least 10 minutes on installation, then switch off, prior to going for a drive - this ensures that the base idle settings are learnt.

chip is easy to fit, opening the ecu is a pain in the arse
ive chipped mine and it made a big noticable difference, no rev limit, drives better in the lower revs, quicker accelaration well worth it on an IS
where did you get yours from ?

18-20 bhp could be throught the rev range but i doubt it, they all exagerate on ebay, although the chip works really wellbdx wrote:What mileage have you covered since chipping, is their a severe drop in mpg (probably hard to judge) and any engine problems.
18-20bhp seems quite a lot
had it running with the chip for at least 6-7 weeks now, much better than standard, seemed to give better low down torque too
i would deffinitly buy another

put my chip in today not ran it much but powerwise i can feel a little increase not really given it much yet. not put it against anything yet. it runs ok. got no limiter. but runs rough at idle for around 15-30 secs when cold? is there a period for the ecu to learn the chip if so how long does it take and is the performance gains very noticeable or mild. (£30 chip off ebay)

power was very noticable at WOT with mine, also better low down torque it would seem

Disconnect the battery or ECU plug for at least half an hour to reset it, then go through the bedding-in procedure.chrisE318is wrote:i didnt do the idle start on mine is there anyway i can do this again i.e take the chip out and start again or can i do this by simply starting the car and letting it tick over?

Did you try disconnecting the ecu and leaving it to idle? Have you also tried substituting the original chip to see if the symptoms have occurred coincidentally?

Alternatively, try e-mailing Ant at A-Tech.
