Are the M50 and M51 engines related?
Evening gents, I'm looking into plonking a big derv in my E30. The M51 fits the bill for power and a little bit of tunability, plus I've driven a 325tds and found it to be quite a good diesel engine for its age. Presumably swapping one of these in (with regards to mounts/loom/prop etc) would be simi...

M42 Auto?
Good day, I currently have an E30 318i Auto and, due to my slow commute and a dicky leg, I don't really want to convert it to a manual any time soon. However I would like a little bit more power whilst retaining 4cyl economy, so my question relates to linking a 318iS M42 engine to my current M40's a...

Re: Noisy steering rack
Nope it's pretty firmly in place. It's not so much a rubbing as a crunching with slight resistance, like it's trying to lock as it would when you turn the car off and remove the key.

Noisy steering rack
Evening gents, Before I start it's an 88 318i Auto without PAS. Basically the steering rack makes a crunching noise when turning at low speed, although it rarely does it at high speed. It seems like it's the steering lock, which has been playing up since I got the car, but I'm not sure how I'd go ab...

What E36 bits can I fit to my E30?
Hello chaps, I've not long bought an E30 318i Auto as my daily driver, but I have an old E36 320i sitting around that my Mum wants off the drive - the head gasket has gone and I don't have the time, space or inclination to fix it - so I'm going to be taking some bits off it to stick on ebay. My ques...

Re: 1988 320i
Looks wise I say:
iS front skirt in matt black to sort of match the tech-i
Colour coded door mirrors
Colour coded bumpers (except the black middle bit)
Get rid of the chrome window trims
Paint the wheel centres black
German plates
And lower it 60/40
Make it so...
