Hi , Do you have a black leather drivers side upper bolster for a 1988 e30 sport please.

Its worth a try it looks like the back cover will come off and you may be able to adjust/clean the contacts, a mate had this issue with his cab recently and it was the pump so check it first.

The contacts in the switch ground one side of the pump.

Volvo fitted a similar headlight wiper and the caps are still available they look the same as the E30 ones, you can remove them they just clip in,

As sunroofs have become NLA I decided to have had a go at doing a refub on one, first splitting the frame and lid by drilling out the spot welds around the edge. Check the ignition switch as they do faulty.

Check the plastic cover on the top of the AFM and check to see if it has been disturbed, if it has someone may have adjusted the flap tension to alter the fuel mixture. have a look at this link as it will give you a good idea on how the AFM works.

This video from 4:39 gives good advice of how to remove the brass centre of the small gear also how far to push the new small gear on to the shaft. The small gear is a tight fit so you may need to hold the shaft as you push it on .

Had the same issue recently it was the milometer gears breaking up, not to hard to fix and plenty of YouTube videos available, just a couple of things to be aware of the make of the gauge cluster VDO or MOTOMETER. and the gears must be for MPH . the gears were from an Italian company www.snaporazmot...

Awesome work now you have given me more ideas, the dipstick was made by a toolmaker friend from a solid stainless bar I will ask him.

I have these 2 with the thicker guage wires, one has the lugs split at the top but connects to the fog light plug ok.

Is this the connector you need.

Maybe I will wait until until after Dec 31st but already have sorted most of the parts, just a small selection of my hoard.
