is it safe to adjust it as some one told me they can lock going round a corner if adjusted, how much steering play can it remove?

I've adjusted few with good results. But make sure it's on FULL lock when you do it. Do not adjust with the wheels in the straight ahead position. Thats what has caused problems in my experience.

Adjust it, but only 5-10 degrees at a time
