lol, think its to do with such things as boats, planes getting the title she for being 'beautifull' things, or at least when they were first out. So its stuck with cars as well i imagen.
Planes alwayshave women on them, espeically later ones, so theirs always been that element of having a womens name on mechanical things lol.
Car, women.....i know what id rather have.......

i do it coz i have a sense of affection for it/her/the car...

If you call your car a "He" the following terms become homosexual....
"I'm off to fiddle with the car"
"I love getting the backend out"
"I want mine with leather"
"My car needs some new rubbers"
"She's a stunner" would have to change too,"Doesn't he look butch?"
"The nuts are stiff on my car"
It would be embarrasing talking about "nipples"
Polishing the knob will take on a different meaning!
Perhaps I shouldn't mention " I put my finger through rusty brown holes" or for those unfortunate owners "I put my fist through a rusty brown hole on my car"
I rest my case.........
Keep 'em female

All my cars have been female... apart from one. My Mk2 Golf. He was called Rolf. He was ace. He was a little black 1.3 4-speed motor with a character all of his own. My girlfriend at the time loved him. Obviously not more than me. He then turned into a left-hand drive 320iS which she wasn't happy about.

I don't know how you can give an E30 a girl's name?
Just look at the front of it, it looks like it's ready to rip out your internal organs with its bare hands
You won't find a woman as mean as that!
Which is why mine has a bloke's name
Pretty much any other car would have a girl's name though, exceptions being other aggresive looking motors like the E28 5-series.....

...just as somebody once said about wimmin, the pleasure is momentary, the position ridiculous, and the expense damnable...

I wanted a female name with germanic conotations. The car is both glamorous and dangerous, brilliant red reminds me of lipstick and the big six could get me in big trouble. Marlene Dietrich was glamorous and had a hint of danger about her so I hought it fitted.
